Dance and Music Courses

Basic Introduction to Latin Dance

Latin dance is one of the international standard dances, including five types: Rumba, Cha-cha, Samba, Paso Doble, and Jive. Among them, Rumba is graceful and elegant, Cha-cha is lively and dynamic, Samba is passionate and exuberant, Paso Doble is bold and dramatic, and Jive has a joyful and upbeat rhythm.

Latin dance is taught in the order of Cha-cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba, and Paso Doble. The course consists of two main parts: one is the basic steps, and the other is the choreography of the complete dance. By combining these two parts, students not only improve their dance technique but also enhance their physical posture and overall demeanor.

Learning Target

In one academic year, students will learn one type of dance and one completed choreography, allowing them to perform dance steps to music with correct rhythm. Moreover, students should maintain an upright posture and improve their demeanor while practicing the dance.
